So in the theories (when someone works it out) what we need to know on a practical basis is how they start falling - like the statistics bit will be useful - and if they start in bunches in clouds higher up cos if we can predict that then we can send out helicopters to catch them
If the place is predictable but the timing is not then we need to set up nets to catch them
Ppl may say wolves r violent and shoulsnt be saves but its not true, they just only when hungry and take weaker prey like baby deer or moose or whatever, I have read into this and there are v few wolf attack reports from the USA where they have hem in Yellowstone etc, we WILL be fine with them, also at the time we catch them they'll be weak from having dropped anyway.
So scientists/meteorologists pls help us with your theories
As for the doomsayers / religious crazies zomg keep out you have no practical solution we need to be compassionate and proactive here

Wait like why don't we just set up nets anyway even without the science? Seems easy enough and like even if we can't cover the whole country at first we could put some nets over whatever we care about and then see if any wolves drop in them. And if it works and stuff.

or, like, when you are restin in your hammock outdoors with pimms and sandwich, set up second hammock above your hammock.
second hammock catches wolf, so wolf does not fall on you.

Considering the height they are falling from, nets aren't going to be very effective. The wolves are going to go straight through, either breaking the net or getting shredded into bloody pieces scattered over a larger area. We need a more effective plan.

We could test if the wolves are choosing where to fall by like building a big pile of stuff wolves love (i.e. mostly delicious meat) and see if more wolves fall there. Did you know wolves also love to swim and it's adorable? I wonder if there have been more wolf landings in like the lake district or whatever. We.... might have to accept that more wolves are going to explode before we can stop future wolves exploding.  |

Isn't, there, like, a maximum speed that falling things can get to? So all we need to do is build nets strong enough to catch them at that speed. Sure it's doable. Or maybe trampolines or something though thinking about it that's probably a worse idea.
